HDPE Hole-making Corrugated Hose
Plastic corrugated hose is a kind of new hole-making hose for bridge construction. Its raw material is HDPE. It is used as hole-making channel for pre-stressing tendon by the method of post-tensioning in concrete structure. When hole-making hose is damaged, concrete slurry provides protection for pre-stressing steel.

Advantages:
- Corrosion resistance: Because it is corrosion resistant, acid resistant and saline-alkaline resistant, it can protect the pre-stressed tendon from corrosion.
Compared with metal hose, it has lasting corrosion resistance, while the metal hose doesn’t have lasting corrosion-resistance performance, so the metal hose can’t resist against the leakage of water and can’t provide protection.
The plastic corrugated hose can prevent the pollution caused by the penetration of harmful substance to the hose, the durability of post-tensioned pre-stressing structure is ensured.
- Insulativity: Metal hose is good conductor of electricity and easy to get rusty. Compared to it, plastic corrugated hose doesn’t conduct electricity, so it can prevent the corrosion of stray current and won’t get rusty.
- Small friction coefficient: The friction coefficient of plastic corrugated hose is 0.14, but the friction coefficient of the metal corrugated hose in the reserved channel is 0.25, so it can reduce the friction loss of the pre-stress during extension.
- High strength, high rigidity: Stepping & pressing resistant, and no leak under load, it is more suitable for vacuum grouting
Technical requirements
As the plastic corrugated hose is used for pre-stressed hole making hose, it has the following requirements:
- Plastic corrugated hose should have enough strength to keep the shape and prevent from damage, penetration and deformation during construction.
- Plastic corrugated hose should have enough tenacity to suit laying of special pre-stressed tendon.
- Plastic corrugated hose should have enough wear-resistance performance to prevent damage caused by pre-stressed tendon during turning and tensioning.
- The cross sectional area of the plastic corrugated hose should be no less than 2-2.5 times of the pre-stressed tendon.
- Plastic corrugated hose should have good leakproofness to ensure the sealing between corrugated hoses, corrugate hose and anchorage.
- Plastic corrugated hose should have good adhesive property.
