Application: Many Chromate compounds are poisonous and carcinogenic. They are used for example in chrome plating and tanning. Chromate test tube is used for the easy monitoring of water discharged from such plants.

2. Operation

1. Measure 15mL testing liquid, add 5 drops of R-1 reagent; boil the testing liquid lightly, and add 1 drop of R-2, add more till the liquid become light red; stop heating, and add 1 drop of R-3, add more till light red disappear; add 5 drops of R-4, sway and wait for 2-3min.

2. Pull out the filament of tube, Evict the air.

3. Insert the tube into testing liquid, stop inhaling when it is half around.

4. Rock 5 to 6 times slightly, wait for 2 minutes, then compare the shown color with the standard colorimetric card.
