Adding barium is to play to the coordination of rare earth elements, magnesium, calcium, barium, reduce the content of rare earth and magnesium, the spheroidizing effect is better, barium as graphitization element with magnesium can reduce the vapor pressure of magnesium under high temperature, improve magnesium absorption rate, increase the per unit volume of nodular cast iron graphite count, improved breeds (secondary graphitization modification) effect, and inhibit the formation of carbides.
