The demonstration device demonstrates the most simple "Hutchinson effect", the principle is that when a conductor moving in a magnetic field, the induced current will be the conductor Ampere force, the induced current produces a magnetic field direction is always the external magnetic field in the opposite direction, so hinder the movement of objects.
Motor driven rotating metal disc, with its relatively high strength acrylic disc cloth with NdFeB magnets; metal cutting disc rotating magnetic field lines and produce eddy currents and magnetic fields interact to form a braking torque, but because of the metal plate driven by the motor, acrylic disc with magnets in the reaction force to follow up the metal disc rotation speed.
