In electrostatics, we know that the conductor surface charge distribution on the conductor surface curvature, the smaller the radius of curvature of the conductor (i.e., the sharper), the electric field strength near the surface of the conductor is greater. Since the radius of curvature at the tip of the conductor is small, there is a strong electric field near the tip, and to the surrounding air molecules ionized. Air ionization with the opposite charge on the conductor and the same number of charges are excluded from occurring movement. By reaction wheel in the opposite direction.
Through the experiment, demonstration electric wind wheel rotation under high pressure, so that students understand the point discharge phenomenon was observed.
