When paired with the SECG 5.0 AIO Multi Vital Sign Simulator, the respiration module enhances its measurement range and resolution of impedance respiratory signals. This helps engineers simulate a wider variety of testing scenarios to verify the accuracy and reliability of products.
OVERVIEW Origins
When developing patient monitors, manufacturers face challenges in ensuring the accuracy of respiratory monitoring
and detecting subtle changes in respiratory signals.
To facilitate product testing, we designed a respiration module compatible with the SECG 5.0 AIO Multi Vital Sign
Simulator. This module expands the simulation range of impedance respiratory signals and improves variability
resolution.
Individual differences result in varying baseline impedance values, leading to different respiratory signals. With the
respiration module, the SECG 5.0 AIO expands its respiratory signal simulation range from the original 500Ω to 2500
Ω to a new range of 100Ω to 4500Ω. This allows for simulation from average human impedance values to extreme
conditions.
Moreover, by observing respiratory variability, including frequency and amplitude, different respiratory patterns can
be recognized. The respiration module expands the respiratory signal variability range of SECG 5.0 AIO to 10Ω, with
a minimum step size of 0.05Ω within the range of 0.0Ω to 5Ω. This enables testing of patient monitors' responses to
subtle changes in respiratory signals, helping engineers enhance detection sensitivity.
