There are currently two types of indium refining, namely primary indium and recycled indium. Primary indium is mainly extracted from raw ores and is also the main source of current smelted indium. Recycled indium is the smelting of scrap metal, which is mainly a by-product recovered from the smelting process of lead, zinc, copper, tin and other ores. Ion exchange method is one of the effective methods to extract indium.
