Rubber dam is a new type of hydraulic structure that has emerged with the development of polymer synthetic materials industry. It has a strong skeleton and synthetic structure made of high-strength canvas, anchored on the foundation slab, forming a sealed bag type. In the dry season, the rubber dam bag is filled with water or air to form a dam to block water to meet the needs of industrial, agricultural and domestic water. In the rainy season, the water or air in the dam bag is discharged and the dam collapses without affecting the river flood discharge. The rubber dam has a short construction period (3-15 days for installation and 3-6 months for the final construction period), low project cost, and rubber dams save 30%-70% of cement, steel and wood compared to traditional earth-rock dams. It has the characteristics of long service life, convenient operation and maintenance, and strong earthquake resistance. Rubber dams are suitable for low-head and large-span dam projects. At present, rubber dams have been widely used in irrigation, power generation, flood control, and urban beautification.
