Pipeline passivation is a method of improving the performance of pipelines in resisting chemical corrosion and oxidation through surface treatment technology. Passivation treatment is to form a stable, dense, and non-corroded oxide layer on the surface of the pipeline through coating or electrochemical methods, thereby protecting the pipeline surface from damage. The core mechanism of pipeline passivation is to prevent the metal from further corrosion by forming a protective oxide layer on the metal surface. This oxide layer can isolate the metal from contact with the external environment, especially when in contact with water, it can prevent oxidation and corrosion. In the surface treatment of steel pipes, the electrochemical passivation method is generally used, that is, a layer of oxide layer is coated on the surface of the pipe to resist the erosion of acid, alkali and other chemical substances.
