Introduction to petroleum casing
1、 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of petroleum casing, especially L80-3Cr petroleum casing, mainly includes:
Carbon (C): 0.14~0.20%
Silicon (Si): 0.17~0.35%
Manganese (Mn): 0.5~0.7%
Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.015%
Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.010%
Copper (Cu): ≤ 0.20%
Nickel (Ni): ≤ 0.30%
Chromium (Cr): 2.8~3.2%
Molybdenum (Mo): 0.30~0.50%
2、 Materials and performance
The main materials of oil casing include carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and titanium alloy. Among them, alloy steel casing is widely used due to its advantages of high strength, corrosion resistance, and good high-temperature and high-pressure performance.
L80-3Cr petroleum casing has excellent mechanical properties, specifically manifested as:
Yield strength: 552~665Mpa
Tensile strength: ≥ 655Mpa
Impact energy: 0 ℃ impact transverse impact ≥ 31J, longitudinal impact ≥ 68J
Hardness requirement: ≤ 23HRC or ≤ 241HB
3、 Purpose
Petroleum casing is mainly used in the oil and gas drilling industry, with specific uses including:
Support the wellbore walls of oil and gas wells to ensure the drilling process and the normal operation of the entire oil well after completion.
As a core component in the fields of petroleum casing, tubing, coupling processing, petroleum machinery drilling tools, equipment, etc.
Oil casing is the lifeline for maintaining the operation of oil wells, and its quality has a significant impact on the safety and production of oil wells. Therefore, when selecting oil casing, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as wellhead environment, well depth, well temperature, and well pressure, and choose appropriate materials and steel grades according to the actual situation.
