What is an aspheric condenser lens?
An aspheric condenser lens is applied to focus collimated light (condense) with a short focal length in a single lens element with minimal spherical aberration. These lenses have an aspheric surface on one side and a plano or spherical surface on the other. Realpoo Optics offers an anti-reflection coating to help reduce surface reflection losses.
Realpoo's Aspheric Condenser Lenses have larger apertures, higher NA, and lower f/# ratios than spherical lenses. So, these lenses are ideal for high-efficiency illumination applications or collimating light from an LED, lamp, or similar light source. Condenser lenses are not designed or recommended for forming an image on a camera sensor, which is better solved with our achromatic doublet or triplet lenses, or tube lenses.
