Colorless or light yellow oily liquid. The smell is mild and tear-inducing. Melting point -70 °C, boiling point 165-167 °C5 mm Hg(lit.), density 1.121 g/mL at 25 °C(lit.), vapor density 8.3 (vs air), vapor pressure 2.3 mm Hg(150 °C), refractive index n20/D 1.519(lit.), flash point >230 °F. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, acetone, benzene and other organic solvents, partially dissolved in mineral oil, glycerin, glycol.

Product application

Diisopropyl phthalate is a reactive plasticizer, which is mainly used to prepare diisopropyl phthalate, which is used as a crosslinking agent of unsaturated polyester ester and a strengthening agent of cellulose ester. And used as a plasticizer for resins that can self-polymerize without the addition of inhibitors. It is used to make polydiallyl phthalate resin, crosslinking agent of unsaturated polyester resin, plasticizer of vinyl resin, catalyst of polyester resin and pigment carrier, etc. It can also be used as many polymer and copolymer monomers.
