Woodward Model 9907-165 505E digital governor with controlled extraction and/or entry pressure control. 32-bit microprocessor-based digital control for steam turbines
Unit 9907-167 is part of Woodward's 505E series of digital control devices. These devices are part of the 505E series manufactured by Woodward. It is one of the oldest independent manufacturers of turbine control systems in the United States. The 505E series is designed for equipment such as industrial-grade steam turbines, small turbine generators, or multi-purpose turbine expansion models. The 505E series is designed for single extraction and/or feed of steam turbines. It operates the steam turbine by using a pair of actuators to drive the inlet steam valve.
The unit is listed under the numeric names 9907-167. It is equipped with a 32-bit microprocessor to control the turbine. The physical body of the unit 9907-167 consists of a series of printed circuit board units that are mounted in a housing capable of being securely installed in the control panel system.
Models 9907-167 can be equipped with NEMA Class 4X protective housing. This housing is optional, however, it is effective in protecting the electromechanical components from any permanent damage or any invasive particles. The housing is both water and dust resistant and suitable for indoor and outdoor conditions. The ambient temperature range of the 9907-167 device (without the protective frame) is -25 to 65 C, but when the frame is connected, it can only withstand temperatures up to 55 C.
