Potassium carbonate

Potassium carbonate is also known as potassium alkali, the appearance of colorless crystals or white particles, easily soluble in water, its solution is strongly alkaline. When the saturated aqueous solution was cooled, the glassy monoclinic crystal hydrate 2K2CO3·3H2O crystallized out with a density of 2.043, and the crystal water was lost at 100℃. Insoluble in ethanol, acetone and ether. Strong hygroscopic, exposed to the air can absorb carbon dioxide and water, into potassium bicarbonate. It can be obtained by reacting potassium hydroxide with carbon dioxide. It can also be obtained by using potassium chloride with magnesium carbonate, water, carbon dioxide under pressure, or by impregnating paulownia seed ash and plant ash. It is mainly used for the decarbonization of synthetic gas, electronic tube, glass, enamel, printing and dyeing, welding rod, film development, inorganic salt and the raw material of the glass shell of the picture tube.

Product application

1. Potassium carbonate can be used to produce optical glass, which can improve the transparency, strength and refractive coefficient of glass. 2. It is also used in the production of welding rods, which can prevent the arc breaking phenomenon during welding. 3. Used for the production of VAT dyes and their dyeing and ice bleaching. 4. Used as an adsorbent to remove hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide. 5. Potassium carbonate mixed with soda ash can be used as dry powder fire extinguishing agent. 6. It can also be used as an auxiliary raw material for acetone and alcohol production and as an antioxidant in rubber production. 7. Potassium carbonate aqueous solution can be used for cooking cotton cloth and degreasing wool. 8. It is also used in the production of ink, photo medicine, polyester, electroplating, leather, ceramics, building materials, crystal and potash soap. 9. Heavy potassium carbonate is mainly used as raw materials for picture tube glass shells, widely used as raw materials for glass and special glass, and used for decarbonization of large fertilizers. 10. It can be used as a leavening agent in food. 11. As an alkaline agent and dough improver, and can inhibit the acid of noodles, can be used for noodle food, according to the production needs of appropriate use. 12. Used for washing and processing of exposed photosensitive materials. 13. For analytical reagents, reference reagents and fluxes of molten silicates and insoluble sulfates.
