Zinc alloy sacrificial anode is suitable for cathodic protection against corrosion of vessels, ballast tanks, machinery and equipment, Marine engineering and harbor facilities, drilling platforms, port terminals, condensers and pumps of seawater medium and pipelines and cables in low resistivity soil in seawater and fresh seawater medium
The principle of cathodic protection: When two metals are electrically connected in the electrolyte of seawater, electrons move from the active metal to the inactive metal due to the potential difference. The inactive metal is called the cathode, and the active metal is called the anode. When the anode generates an electric current, it dissolves into ions in the electrolyte, producing electrons at the same time. The cathode acquires electrons by electrically connecting with the anode. The result is negative polarization of the cathode, which plays the role of anti-corrosion protection. The protected metal has gained an excess of electrons to act as a protection against corrosion, so that its surface does not undergo any oxidation chemical reactions.
