Japan PSE certification introduction
PSE certification is a compulsory safety certification in Japan. It is used to prove that electrical and electronic products have passed the safety standards test of the Japanese Electrical and Material Safety Law (DENAN Law) or international IEC standards. Japan's DENTORL Act (Electrical Device and Material Control Act) stipulates that 506 products must pass safety certification to enter the Japanese market. Among them, 165 types of A products should obtain the diamond-shaped PSE mark, and 341 types of B products should obtain the circular PSE mark.
Since April 1, 2001, the Electrical Product Control Act (DENTORL) has been officially renamed the Electrical Product Safety Act (DENAN). Unlike the control of the agreement provisions of the previous regulatory system, the new system will ensure product safety by unofficial agencies.
Basic information of PSE certification
Whether mandatory: mandatory
Certificate validity: for diamonds, 3-7 years, product based. For round, no validity period, no certificate, only VOC can be issued
Factory inspection requirements: For diamonds, only the first factory inspection is required, no annual review. For round, no factory inspection requirements
Licensee requirements: for diamond, factory / importer. For round, no requirements
Technical information: Voltage frequency AC 100V, 50Hz / 60Hz, plug JIS 8303
Certification classification
According to Japan's "Electrical Product Safety Law" PSE certification is divided into two categories.
PSE diamond certification: Among them, it is easy to cause electric shock, fire and other accidents, and there are 165 kinds of products with greater danger, which are classified as "specific electrical products — called Class A electrical products", such as chargers and adapters;
PSE circular certification: the remaining 341 products with less harmfulness are classified as "non-specific electrical products-called Class B electrical products", most of which are large and small household electrical appliances, lighting products, lithium batteries, etc.
Applicable product range
Diamond PSE
Electric wires, wiring appliances, current limiters, transformers, stabilizers, electric heating appliances, electric power application machinery, AC electrical machinery, portable generators, other AC machinery, electrical conduits, small AC motors, light sources and light sources Applied machinery, batteries, etc. belong to the product range specified by the Safety Law for Certain Electrical Supplies, such as: DC power supply devices, switches and sockets, electric water heaters, power cords and plugs, other household appliance transformers (AC-AC power products), etc. 165 products.
Round PSE
Products that fall outside the specific electrical appliance safety law, such as: electric blankets, electric steamers, electric irons, electric ovens, microwave ovens, hair humidifiers, refrigerators, electric mixers, electric egg cookers, and electric insulation basins , Hair dryer, electric humidifier, projector, washing machine, incandescent bulb, fluorescent lamp, table lamp, decorative lamp, advertising lamp, lithium battery and all 341 products such as LED bulbs and LED lamps.
Application process
1. The client prepares samples and materials to submit to the testing agency
2. The testing organization's laboratory performs the test. If it is a PSE round, LCS will issue a statement letter.
3. For PSE diamonds, an inspection is needed.
4. After passing the test and inspection, the issuing authority issues a PSE diamond certificate
Application materials
1. Application Submission Information: Relevant Application Form
2. Test preparation data
1. CB report (including Japanese difference test)
2, circuit diagram
3.PCB design drawings related to safety regulations
4.Specifications of transformer and coil parts
5.List of key components and their certificates
6, Japan manual or assembly manual
7. Japan nameplate and warning signs (including PSE mark and notified supplier name)
Structure data sheet
9. List and calibration certificate used in factory production (for factory inspection)
3. Test samples: According to the applied standards and certification bodies, 5pcs are usually provided in the case of CB, and 10pcs samples are provided in the absence of CB.
