What is Ultra-Pure Water?

Ultra-Pure Water, also known as UPW, is a type of water with exceptional purity standards. UPW is extensively used in laboratories and pharmaceutical industries owing to its high quality and minimal concentration of impurities. There are varying degrees of high-purity water, but UPW is characterized by its electrical resistivity of 18.2 M-cm at a temperature of 25. The process of generating UPW requires an elaborate treatment system that includes pretreatment, primary treatment, and post-treatment. Multiple technologies are used to cater to the growing demand for UPW, including electrode ionization, reverse osmosis, and water deionization. Regulators such as USP, European Pharmacopeia, ASTM, and EPRI oversee the production of UPW to ensure it meets the industry standards.

What is an Ultra-Pure Water System?

An Ultra-Pure Water System is a high-tech water purification system that removes all types of contaminants from raw water. These systems utilize advanced technologies such as reverse osmosis, ion exchange, UV water sterilization, and electro deionization to eliminate the impurities present in raw water. WZHDN offers customized and intelligent designs of ultra-pure water systems with varying production capacities to cater to the specific needs of different industries. These systems typically produce high-purity water with a resistivity of 18.2 MOhm-cm and an organic carbon concentration of less than 50ppb.

What is the Ultra-Pure Water Purification Process?

The Ultra-Pure Water Purification Process involves multiple stages of water treatment, starting with pretreatment of raw water. There are various purification processes that can be used in different orders to generate ultra-pure water.

The two most popular water ultra-purification processes utilized by ultra-pure water systems are the EDI/RO and UV water sterilization process and the multi-stage RO filtration combined with electrodeionization process.

In the first process, tap water is converted into pure water using reverse osmosis/EDI water systems, with the addition of a bactericidal UV system utilized as pretreatment for the electro deionization system.

The second process involves the use of activated carbon filters, pre-chlorination, antiscalant dosing, and cartridge filtration as pretreatment before subjecting the water to multi-stage RO filtration followed by polishing with an electrodeionization system to produce UPW.

What Types of Ultra-Pure Water Systems Do You Provide?

We offer a wide range of Ultra-Pure Water Systems that can cater to the specific needs of various industries. Our systems are categorized based on multiple factors such as their designs, water purification technologies, and their intended applications.

For instance, we provide containerized ultra-pure water systems that are compact, mounted on standard containers measuring 10ft, 20ft, or 40ft, and can be used in several industries, including laboratories, microelectronics, and pharmaceuticals. These systems comprise distinct water purification systems that can be configured in any order, with production capacities that vary depending on the industry needs.

Additionally, we offer skid-mounted ultra-pure water systems that are pre-assembled ultra-pure water units on metal structures. These structures facilitate compactness and reduce footprints, making them ideal for intermittent and permanent applications. Our skid-mounted ultra-pure water systems are designed to accommodate multiple purification technologies, including reverse osmosis, electrodeionization, and UV disinfection, making them ideal for various industries such as semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and laboratories.
