2.Brief Introduction:

40Cr is the GB standard steel, 40Cr steel is one of the most widely used steel in the machinery manufacturing industry. It has good comprehensive mechanical properties, low temperature impact toughness and low notch sensitivity. Good steel hardenability, when water quench hardening to Ф 28 ~ 60 mm, when oil quenching hardening to Ф 15 ~ 40 mm. In addition to quenching and tempering, the steel is also suitable for cyanidation and high-frequency quenching. When hardness is 174 ~ 229HB, the relative machinability is 60%. The steel is suitable for making medium plastic mould.

9. Performance:

Medium carbon tempered steel, cold heading die steel. The steel is affordable, easy to process, after the appropriate heat treatment can obtain a certain degree of toughness, plasticity and wear resistance. Normalizing can promote microstructure refinement and near equilibrium, and improve the cutting performance of the blank. Tempered at 550~570ºC, the steel has the best comprehensive mechanical properties. The hardenability of the steel is higher than 45 steel, suitable for high-frequency quenching, flame quenching and other surface hardening treatment.

10. Usage:

The steel is tempered and tempered to make mechanical parts that can withstand medium loads and speeds, such as steering knuckles and rear shafts of automobiles and gears, shafts, worm shafts, spline shafts and centerpieces of machine tools.
