Sodium alginate is a kind of natural polysaccharide which exists in kelp, macroalgae and other brown algae. It is a natural product of alginate in alga and minerals in seawater. Sodium alginate is a white or pale yellow particle or powder that is almost odorless and tasteless. It is a kind of high viscosity polymer compound and a typical hydrophilic sol. It is widely used in food, medicine, printing and dyeing industries for its stability, thickening and emulsification, hydration and gelling properties.
In industry, sodium alginate has been used as warp sizing, finishing and printing paste for a long time. Sodium alginate is used as reactive dye paste with unique properties. The chemical reaction between the fiber and the reactive dye is carried out to fix the dye on the fiber, and the printing paste used in the dyeing process should not interfere with or participate in the chemical reaction. When sodium alginate is used as printing paste, the dyeing process of reactive dye and fiber is not affected, and the printed pattern is clear, bright, high color giving and good hand feeling. Not only suitable for cotton printing color, but also suitable for wool, silk, synthetic fiber printing.
