三相异步电动机的启动电路往往比较大，可能对电源或线路产生较大冲击。因此对于一些大型异步电动机，启动时可采取星三角降压启动方式，启动时定子绕组接成Y接线方式启动，启动电流大大降低，当电动机速度接近额定转速时定子绕组转为△接线方式运行。图所示为采用时间继电器自动控制Y—△电动机降压启动控制电路。图示星三角降压启动控制电路由接触器、按钮、热继电器、时间继电器组成。接触器KMy用于星形Y降压启动,接触器kM△用于三角形△全压运行,时间继电器KT用来控制Y形降压启动时间及完成Y一△切换。
