1、 Daily inspection

1. Liquid level: Lower than the rated liquid level will shorten the service life of the silver fir forklift battery, and too little electrolyte will cause the battery to heat up and damage. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly pay attention to whether the electrolyte is sufficient.

2. Terminals, wires, and covers: It is necessary to regularly inspect the junction of DETA forklift battery terminals and the connection with wires for corrosion caused by oxidation. At the same time, check whether the cover is deformed and whether there is any heating phenomenon.

3. Appearance: Dirty surface of the silver fir forklift battery can cause leakage, and the battery surface should be kept clean and dry at all times.

2、 Maintenance

1. Adding water: Add distilled water to the specified liquid level, and do not add too much distilled water to extend the water addition interval. Adding too much water can cause electrolyte leakage.

2. Charging: During the charging process, the battery will generate gas. The charging area should be well ventilated and there should be no open flames around. At the same time, the oxygen and acidic gases generated during the charging process will have an impact on the surrounding area. During charging, unplugging the charging plug will generate an arc. Only after turning off the charger can the plug be unplugged. After charging, a lot of hydrogen gas is trapped around the battery, and no open flames are allowed. The cover plate on the battery should be opened for charging.

3. The repair of wiring pillars, wires, and covers must be carried out by professional technical personnel designated by the manufacturer. 4. Cleaning: If it is not too dirty, it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. If it is very dirty, the battery should be removed from the car, washed with water, and allowed to dry naturally.

3、 Custody

1. Storage location: cannot be short circuited; Short circuits caused by rain may cause a fire and may generate a small amount of hydrogen gas. Therefore, batteries must be stored in a ventilated and cool place.

2. Waste batteries: Waste batteries still contain electrical energy and should be stored according to the storage method used.

4、 Operation of electrolyte

1. Check the specific gravity: use a suction Hydrometer to check the specific gravity. Do not spill electrolyte during operation, and wear protective equipment.

2. Operations other than inspection: Professional personnel should be consulted, especially when replenishing electrolyte (dilute sulfuric acid).

3. Electrolyte leakage: Due to the overturning or damage of the battery, electrolyte leakage should be immediately addressed (refer to emergency measures)

5、 Operation of end-of-life DETA batteries

1. Operation of end-of-life batteries: As the battery approaches its end of life, the electrolyte in the single cell battery decreases very quickly, and distilled water should be replenished daily.

2. Disposal of waste batteries: For waste batteries, extract the electrolyte and decompose the batteries. Can we discuss whether to have the battery manufacturer recycle it.

6、 Emergency handling

1. Electrolyte splashing on the skin: rinse with plenty of water

2. Electrolyte splashing into the eyes: rinse with plenty of water and receive treatment from a professional doctor

3. Electrolyte splashing on clothes: Immediately remove the clothes, rinse with water, and then rinse with weakly alkaline soap solution.

4. Electrolyte leakage: When the electrolyte leaks to the outside, immediately neutralize it with lime, strong carbonated soda, or carbonated soda, and rinse with a large amount of water.
