Product Features

UKCA certification process

The UKCA certification process is the same as the CE certification process, which is generally divided into the following six steps:

UKCA certification includes: LVD certification, EMC certification, can add ROHS certification.

1. Determine applicable UK regulations and standards

2. Self-verify product compliance

3. Determine whether a conformity assessment by a UK notified body is required

4. Test the conformity of products

5. Save the required technical documents

6. Products are pasted with UKCA logo and issued with UKCA DoC

Use of the UKCA logo:

1. Most (but not all) products currently covered by the CE Mark will be covered by the new UKCA mark.

2. The rules for the use of the new UKCA mark are consistent with those of the current CE mark.

3, if the UK leaves without an agreement, the UK will notify a time-limited period. If production and compliance checks have been completed by the 29 March 2019 deadline, the manufacturer may still use the CE mark to sell the product on the UK market until the end of the restriction period.

4. If the manufacturer plans to have a third party compliance check carried out by a UK compliance body and does not transfer the data to an accredited body, the product will be required to apply for a UKCA mark to enter the UK market after 29 March 2019.

5. The UKCA mark will not be recognized in the market, and the products that currently require the CE mark will continue to require the CE mark for sale.

Use of CE mark:

The product CE mark as assessed by the UK Conformity Assessment Body

If the UK leaves without an agreement, the results of conformity assessments carried out by the UK Conformity Assessment Body will no longer be recognised. This means that manufacturers must have their products inspected and labelled by an accredited conformity assessment body if they want to sell them. Manufacturers can also arrange for testing to be transferred to an accredited body before the UK leaves.

Continue to use the CE mark in the UK:

1. Manufacturers do not need to do anything for goods sold in the UK market before 29 March 2019

2.After 29 March 2019, manufacturers will still be able to sell products that are required to be manufactured and inspected by regulations, use the CE mark and sell them on the UK market. There will be a time limited phase. The UK will consult with the industry and provide notice before the end of this period.

3. When products bearing the CE mark are placed on the UK market after 29 March 2019, the manufacturer shall ensure that the goods:

a. Meet the basic requirements set by regulations

b. Acceptance of the relevant conformity assessment procedures (including by an accredited body, if necessary) c. Display the relevant mark of conformity (e.g. CE mark) d. With technical documentation or other records, as well as the declaration or proof of conformance (in English), manufacturers may still use the CE mark based on the self-declaration of conformance when selling products in the UK and in the market during the restricted period.
