EPDM
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a synthetic rubber made up of ethylene, propylene, and diene monomers.
EPDM’s biggest advantages lie in how weatherproof it is outdoors. It can resist abrasion, UV rays, ozone, aging, and weather, and it’s the most waterproof rubber available. EPDM is also steam resistant。With similar properties to silicone rubber below 250 degrees F, EPDM is resilient, has low electrical conductivity, and adheres easily to metals. It’s also very flexible, with 600% elongation and a tensile range of 500-2500 psi, while functioning well in temperatures from -50 degrees F (-45 C) to 350 degrees F (177 C). On top of that, EPDM insulates and reduces noise, part of the reason it’s so commonly used in the automotive industry.

EPDM Rubber Strip Feature and Application
Here's a description of the features and applications of EPDM rubber strips:
Features
1. EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber strips are made from high-quality EPDM weather-resistant rubber that provides excellent resistance to UV rays, extreme temperatures, and weathering.
2. The EPDM rubber material is long-lasting and can withstand exposure to the elements, making it ideal for use in outdoor and harsh environments.
3. EPDM rubber strips have excellent resistance to water, dust, and other contaminants, making them an ideal solution for sealing applications.
4. The material has excellent elasticity and flexibility, enabling it to easily conform to uneven surfaces and irregular shapes.
5. EPDM rubber strips are available in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses, and colors to meet the specific needs of different applications.
6. The material is easy to install and can be cut or shaped to fit the exact dimensions required for a particular application.
Applications
1. EPDM rubber strips are commonly used in the automotive, construction, and manufacturing industries for sealing and weatherstripping applications.
2. They are frequently used to seal electrical and communication cabinets to protect the equipment inside from moisture, dust, and other contaminants.
3. EPDM rubber strips are also used in door and window seals, roofing systems, and other outdoor applications where resistance to weathering and UV exposure is critical.
4. The material is frequently used in the automotive industry for weatherstripping around doors, windows, and hoods to prevent water and wind from entering the vehicle.
5. EPDM rubber strips are also used in industrial applications, such as sealing conveyor belts and other machinery to prevent dust and debris from entering sensitive equipment.
General Properties
Here are some general properties of EPDM rubber:
1. EPDM stands for ethylene propylene diene monomer, which is a type of synthetic rubber material.
2. EPDM rubber is known for its excellent resistance to weathering, UV rays, ozone, and extreme temperatures, making it a popular choice for outdoor and harsh environment applications.
3. EPDM rubber has excellent resistance to water, steam, and chemicals, including acids and alkalis.
4. The material is highly elastic and flexible, allowing it to easily conform to irregular shapes and surfaces.
5. EPDM rubber has good electrical insulation properties, making it suitable for use in electrical and electronic applications.
6. The material is lightweight, making it easy to handle and install.
7. EPDM rubber has a relatively low compression set, which means it can return to its original shape after being compressed, making it an ideal material for sealing applications.
8. EPDM rubber is generally resistant to tearing, abrasion, and puncture, which makes it a durable and long-lasting material.
9. The material is available in a wide range of colors, thicknesses, and durometers to meet the specific needs of different applications.
10. EPDM rubber can be easily fabricated into a variety of shapes and sizes, including sheets, strips, gaskets, and seals.
