Electric vehicle high-voltage cable material selection criteria

Brand Name OMG
Place of Origin China
Application Other, Electric vehicle interior wiring connections

Product Features

High-voltage cables are routed inside electric vehicles, and the environment is harsh. Cables with good materials have better performance and are more suitable for in-vehicle wiring. There are a variety of EV high-voltage cable materials on the market. How should we choose?

1. Silicone material

Silicone wires are soft in texture and have good temperature resistance, but poor tear resistance and oil resistance. Silicone wires are recommended in the following environments:

1. Silicone wire is suitable for areas where the working environment temperature is greater than 150 ℃;

2. The wiring harness layout space is small, the complete radius does not meet the 5D area, or the area where the flexibility of the wiring harness is strictly required due to assembly requirements.

3. The high-voltage wiring harness is well protected, and there is no oil or wear area;

4. The high-voltage plug-in has clear requirements for use.

2. Cross-linked polyolefin materials

The cross-linked polyolefin wire is hard, has good wear resistance and tear resistance, and has low cost, but it has poor softness and poor temperature resistance, and needs to be used in the following environments:

1. The working environment temperature is not more than 150℃;

2. The wiring harness layout space is large, the complete radius is ≮5D, or the wiring harness assembly is not difficult;

3. The wiring harness may be in contact with oil, or the vibration amplitude of wear is large;

4. The high-voltage plug-in has clear requirements for use.

3. Other materials

If there is a flame retardant requirement for the wire, you can choose HB or V0 grade wire;

If there is a requirement for wire shielding, you can choose unshielded wire, single-layer shielded wire, and double-layer shielded wire. The shielding density of the wire can be defined according to the shielding requirements, and the general shielding density is above 85%.
