Polyethersulfone is prepared by condensation of 4,4' -bissulfonyl chloride diphenyl ether with diphenyl ether under the catalysis of anhydrous ferric chloride. The refractive index is 1.85, the glass transition temperature is 225℃, and the thermal deformation temperature is 203℃(1.82 MPa). The heat resistance is between polysulfone and polysulfone, and the long-term use temperature is 180-200 ℃. It has excellent aging resistance and can be used for 20 years at 180 ℃. Good fire resistance. Even if it burns, it does not smoke. The strain at 150 ℃ and 20MPa pressure is only 2.55%.
Polyethersulfone
Good chemical resistance, in addition to chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketones, acids and other general organic solvents. It is stable for general acids, bases, aliphatic hydrocarbons, oils and alcohols. Polyether sulfone resin (PES) is a kind of thermoplastic polymer material with excellent comprehensive performance developed by ICI company in 1972. It is one of the few special engineering plastics currently applied. It has excellent heat resistance, physical and mechanical properties, insulation properties, etc., especially has the outstanding advantages of continuous use at high temperature and can still maintain stable performance in the environment with sharp temperature changes, and has been widely used in many fields.
Heat resistance
The thermal variant temperature is from 200 to 220 ° C, the continuous service temperature is from 180 to 200 ° C, and the UL temperature index is 180 ° C.
The hydrolysis resistance
It can withstand 150 ~ 160℃ hot water or steam, and it is not eroded by acid and alkali at high temperature.
The temperature consul of the modulus
The basic modulus is almost constant from -100℃ to 200℃, especially above 100℃, which is better than any thermoplastic resin.
Creep resistance
Its creep resistance is one of the most excellent thermoplastic resins in the temperature range below 180℃, especially glass fiber reinforced PES resin is better than some thermosetting resins.
Dimensional stability
The linear expansion coefficient is small, and its temperature reliability is also small. It is characterized by 30% glass fiber reinforced PES resin, whose linear expansion coefficient is only 2.3×10 /℃, and can still maintain a similar value to aluminum until 200℃.
Resistance to impact
It has the same impact resistance as polycarbonate. The resin without reinforcement can be riveted, but it is more sensitive to sharp cuts, so attention should be paid to the design.

In terms of health standards, it is approved by the US FDA and also meets the requirements of the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare Announcement No. 434 and 178.
Flame retardant sex
Self-extinguishable, without adding any flame retardant that has excellent flame retardancy, up to UL94V-0 grade (0.46mm)
Chemical resistance
PES is resistant to oils such as gasoline, oil, lubricating oil and cleaning agents such as Freon, and its solvent cracking resistance is the best among amorphous resins. However, it can be dissolved in polar solvents such as chloroform and acetone, and should be paid attention to when using.
