FRP/SMC/GRP Panels are made from Sheet Moulding Compound which comprises of Glass Fibre, Polyester Resins, Catalysts and Fillers. The compound is fed into heavy hydraulic presses and is pressed with constant temperature of 150degreeC. In this process, the styrene in the compound gets evaporated and smooth glass like surface is achieved, making these panels excellent to be used for storing potable drinking water.

FRP water tank includes four parts:

(1) Panels ( Bottom panel, wall panel, roof panel and manhole);
(2) Internal parts ( Internal ladder, tiepiece rod, support, flanges and rubber);
(3) External parts ( External ladder, angle iron, tiepiece board, bolts and nuts);
(4) U-steel base (surface treatment can be painted or hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel).

Cleanliness and Sanitation:

SMC Water Tanks satisfy relevant Food Sanitation standards. Since exterior light is completely

blocked, bacteria generation and germ growths are prevented. In particular, when large panels are employed, existing water tank interior structures are eliminated, allowing long-term sanitary use of water tanks.

Excellent Durability:

The interior structural components of a water tank consist of Storage Tank System (STS) and Base Layer (STS PE coating and Winding Pipes) that prevent corrosion or rusting. The external components are Melt Zinc plated, thus having semi-permanent useful life.

Complete water tightness.

Special sealants with international patents are used to guarantee water tightness. Rational capacity Design: various

Maintenance Manual for SMC FRP Water Tank:

1.Maintenance Guide for Water Tank

1) Operation a. Clean the tank regularly according to the water regulation.

(PS: Twice a year for cleaning, once a month for sanitation check)

b.Operate water in/out value slowly to prevent the impact on water tank by hammering effect when fill/drain water.

c.The tank room should be strictly off limits to anyone who is not an operator.

2. Special Instruction for Winter Season

1) Shut out the indraft of cold air into the tank-room.

2) In case of non-usage of water more than 1 week, drain the water completely from the tank to prevent freezing.

3) Check the insulation on inlet pipe.

4) Check the servomechanism, inlet/outlet pipe, etc. regularly.
