How to work with detection of reinforcing steel measuring instrument

Use a grinding stone to smoothen the test surface

Perform a few test impacts with the rebound hammer on this smooth, hard surface before taking any measurements which you are going to evaluate. Perform a consistency check on the test anvil

Position the hammer perpendicular to and against the test surface. Push the concrete test hammer adainst the surface at a moderate spped until the impact is triggered. Bes aware that the plunger generates a recoil when it deploys. 
Calibration

Testing Anvil For detection of reinforcing steel original schmidt

1) Test anvil is the excellent instrument for assessing test hammer.

2) Test anvil is made from the best steel and especial tool steel. Contact area between anvil core and anvil body get excellently polished, and the rigidity of anvil core is HRC58~62

3) Test anvil must be located on horizontal ground, take test hammer operation on it and check the rebound value, qualified concrete test hammer will get a average rebound value of 80±2 on test anvil, qualified mortar test hammer will get a rebound value of 74±2.

4) The test anvil, as a calibration instrument, after each 5000 or 8000 test, the test surface can be polished and then continue using, but the rigidity of core must be HRC58~62, or abolish it.


5) Test anvil usually stored in dry dustproof place, protect its rebound surface from collision.
