The Allen-Bradley 1756-OF8H analog output module comes with 8 differential outputs plus a HART modem. This module, which belongs to the ControlLogix series, has a selectable voltage or current rating that ranges from -10.4336 to 10.4336 Volts and 0 to 21.2916 milliamps. Its overall output is rated at ±10 Volts or 0 to 20 milliamps while its signal resolution is 15 to 16 bits. The module also has an overall backplane power of 6.54 Watts and a voltage range of 10 to 10.4 Volts or 0 to 20 milliamps and 4 to 20 milliamps. Its thermal dissipation is rated at 16.78 BTU per hour while its power dissipation is 4.92 Watts. Unlike other analog input or output (I/O) modules, the 1756-OF8H comes with an open circuit detection feature and it has a specified circuit detection time of 0.1 milliamps or less.
The device also features an isolation voltage of 50 Volts with basic insulation meticulously tested at 1500 Volts AC for 60 seconds between the backplane and output channels. Besides, the 1756-OF8H offers over-voltage protection and it has a maximum settling time of 23 milliseconds without the HART, and a maximum of 37 milliseconds with the HART. Its voltage settling time starts at 8.5 milliseconds. This module’s calibration accuracy is 0.1% (voltage) and 0.15% (current), while its standard calibration interval is approximately 12 months. With an offset drift of 200nA per degree Celsius and a total module error of 0.15% (voltage) and 0.3% (current), the 1756-OF8H analog output is appropriate for various industrial applications. It utilizes mechanical keying, but the module’s keying can also be configured electronically. Its operating temperature is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity. The module, which is enclosed in an open-type chassis also comes with the IEC, T4 North America, as well as the ATEX temperature codes.
