The MTUs are totally passive units with all active circuitry allocated to the I/O module. The ModuleBus requires a terminator to be installed after the last MTU or S800L module of a cluster. Figure 1-3 shows a typical base cluster in an I/O station with single I/O modules and single FCI connected to PROFIBUS or Advant Fieldbus 100.
