Sodium citrate is an organic compound that appears as a white to colorless crystal.Odourless, cool, salty and spicy.Stable at room temperature and in air, slightly soluble in wet air, weathering phenomenon in hot air.Heating to 150℃ loses crystalline water.Soluble in water, soluble in glycerol, insoluble in alcohols and other organic solvents, decomposition over heat, slightly deliquescent in humid environment, slightly weathered in hot air, the pH value of the solution is about 8.

Sodium citrate is used as acidity regulator, flavor agent and stabilizer in food and beverage industry.Used as an anticoagulant, expectorant and diuretic in the pharmaceutical industry;In the detergent industry, sodium tripolyphosphate can be substituted as the non-toxic detergent auxiliary agent;It is also used in brewing, injection, photographic medicine and electroplating.
