Principle of wood drying equipment

 

The heating medium doesn’t touch the materials directly. All the heat is transferred by wall. Inside the rotating cylinder, there is a concentric cylinder in which materials move forward. Flue gas enters the annular space between the shell and wall of inside cylinder, then enters the concentric cylinder through connecting pipe. Also, there is a different trend of flue gas. The concentric cylinder is first, then the annular space where materials go forward. To discharge the moisture released from the materials, moderate air draught by fan is necessary. However, the amount would be greatly less compared with the direct dryer. Because the air speed is slow (generally 0.3-0.7m/s), exhaust gas brings litter dust. Gas solid separation equipment is barely needed. On many occasion, we can also adopt natural ventilation to exhaust the moisture.

 

For safety insurance, the sawdust is seperated from open fire. Generally, the sawdust moves forwards inside the inner concentric cylinder while hot air moves inside the annular space.
