Standard: BS 1377-9/1924-2 Used to determine the in-situ density of fine grained compacted soil. The tests consists in digging a hole into the ground and then collect, dry and weigh the sampled soil.

Field Density Test Apparatus is applicable to the fine particle measured soil, sand soil, gravel and soil density. maximum particle size of the sample is less than 15mm,Density layer thickness 150~200mm

The sand cone method is used for field density test in our highway construction. In the field, the dry density test is carried out for check the compaction of layers.
