I. Summary

The instrument is one of the upgraded products in our company. Adopting the advanced mechanical design technology, the manufacture techniques and the microcomputer technology, it can collect data accurately. Using white background light and ultra bright LED display screen, it can show data clearly. With a special printing interface, it can plot out the measurement data through a printer.

The instrument has the characteristics of high measurement sensitivity, reliable results and beautiful model, as well as convenience to be operated. It is suitable to determine the absolute viscosity of the Newton liquids and the apparent viscosity of non-Newtonian liquids. It can be widely used to determine the viscosity of various liquid such as greases, oil paints, plastic, pharmaceuticals, dopes, adhesives, and detergents, etc.

III. Working principle

The instrument is a rotational viscometer. The spindle is driven at a constant speed by the motor. When the spindle rotates in a liquid, the liquid will produce a viscosity force moment on the spindle. The higher the viscosity of the liquid is, the higher the viscosity force moment is. On the contrary, the lower the viscosity of the liquid is, the lower the viscosity force moment is. The moment of the viscosity force on the spindle is checked by the sensor and processed by the computer to calculate the viscosity of the measured liquid.

Adopting microprocessor technology, the instrument can preset the full scale (spindle number and spindle speed) conveniently, can process the data received by the sensor, and can show the preset data such as spindle number, spindle speed, viscosity of the measured liquid, and percent of full scale clearly.

This instrument has various kinds of spindles and different grades of speed. So it forms various kinds of combination and can test the viscosity of various liquids with the full scale. What’s more, you can also choose a suitable spindle speed (0.1 – 200 r/min) for stepless speed regulation measurement according to the different viscosity of the liquids.
