Several Common Problems and Solutions of Slurry Pump in Use
Slurry pumps are generally used in large-scale industrial applications. The actual products can be widely used in mining, power, metallurgy, coal and other industries to transport slurry containing abrasive solid particles. It is specifically used in slurry transportation in metallurgical concentrators, hydraulic ash removal in thermal power plants, coal slurry and heavy medium transportation in coal washing plants, etc. At the same time, it can also be used in the chemical industry. It can transport some corrosive slurries containing crystals. It needs a special material to complete.
Centrifugal slurry pumps are the most common in the mining industry, and about 80% are used in mineral processing plants. The working conditions of primary ore sorting are relatively poor, and the slurry pump is mainly used as the transmission medium. Therefore, the service life of the slurry pump is generally low in this section. Faced with different ores, the abrasiveness is also different, so now high chromium alloys are used as the main slurry pump materials.
Several common problems and solutions in the use of the slurry pump
(1) The flow rate of the pump is insufficient
A: The impeller or the inlet and outlet pipes are blocked. You can clean the impeller or the pipes.
B: The impeller is badly worn and should be replaced. If there is a leak at the filler opening, the filler should be compressed. The conveying height is too high, the loss resistance in the pipe is too large, reduce the conveying height or reduce the resistance. (2) Slurry pump does not rotate

(3) Leakage at the packing
A: The axis of the shaft is different from that of the feed box. The main reason is the large processing error and incorrect installation. Should pay attention to check whether the installation is correct after installation.
B: The sealing water ring is seriously worn, and a new water ring needs to be replaced. If the sealing water pipe is blocked, the sealing water cannot enter the middle of the packing, which causes the packing to wear fast, resulting in leakage. The blocked water pipe should be dredged to keep the sealing water clean.
(4) Bearing heat
There are 5 main reasons:
① The lubricating oil is not clean and there are impurities in the oil. The bearings should be cleaned and the lubricant changed. ②The thrust bearing is in the wrong direction. Adjust the thrust bearing direction according to the inlet pressure. ③ If the cold water is not turned on or the cooling water tank is blocked, the cooling water function should be turned on or the cooling water channel should be cleared. ④The equipment is not well lubricated. The amount of lubricating oil should be adjusted according to the instructions. ⑤ The air outlet of the bearing is blocked, so that the hot air in the bearing box cannot be discharged, causing the temperature of the equipment to rise. The air outlet should be cleaned.
(5) Short bearing life
There are four main reasons: ① There is friction in the pump or the impeller is out of balance. The friction should be eliminated or a new impeller should be replaced. ② The motor shaft is not symmetrical or parallel to the pump shaft. The motor shaft or pump shaft should be adjusted, and if the shaft is deformed or bent, replace the shaft directly. ③ Poor lubrication. Excessive and too little impurities will lead to short bearing life, the bearing should be removed and cleaned before use. ④ Bearing assembly is unreasonable. Reassemble the bearing and shaft, or replace the bearing.
(6) The pump vibrates with noise
The main reasons are 5 points: ① The intake air of the suction pipe is uneven. The feeding condition of the pump should be improved and the uniform stability of the intake air should be strengthened. ② The medium density is uneven. The uneven density of the medium causes the pump to vibrate when it is just started.When the pump is turned on normally, the vibration of the pump will disappear.This situation does not need to be dealt with, but before driving, pay attention to evenly blow the medium with high-pressure air; the installation of the pump is not Level. ③The level of the pump body should be checked during installation and operation. ④The pump bearing has large clearance. Excessive bearing clearance will cause large vibrations of the pump. Observe the condition of the pump at any time during daily equipment operation. If the pump shaft and the motor shaft are out of center or the bearings are damaged, they must be dealt with in time. ⑤ There is cavitation, which makes the impeller of the pump unbalanced. Slurry pump should reduce the installation height, adjust the outlet valve to reduce inlet resistance.
