    CARE INSTRUCTIONS
    Shopping Bags are made of heavy-duty canvas that will last for many years. They are easy to care for by washing them in COLD water and flat or line drying. Both the natural and color canvas has been prewashed, so shrinkage should minimal at less than 5%. To minimize wrinkles after washing stretch the bag out by pulling and smoothing the fabric with your hands when the bag is wet. Fold it flat on a towel and air dry, similar to a sweater.

    Produce Bags are made of cotton muslin or knit fabric and will last for many years. They are easy to care for by washing them in COLD water and flat or line drying. They are unprocessed fabric so they may appear excessively wrinkled and shrunken after the first few washes depending on your water hardness and laundry detergent. DON'T BE ALARMED. You can stretch them back out and reduce the wrinkles by pulling on the fabric and smoothing the the wrinkles on a flat surface when the bag is wet. After stretching and smoothing, lay it flat and air dry. Permanent shrinkage will be 7-10%

    USE TIPS
    SHOPPING BAG BOTTOM SUPPORT: A rigid bottom support will help keep bottles and heavy items in place and allow the bag to stand much easier in your car or on the counter. To make one, cut a piece of heavy cardboard to the size of the bottom (14 X 8 inches for Super Duty Tote, 12 X 7 inches for Deluxe Grocery Bag and 12 X 4 inches for Folding Tote) and place it into the bag at the bottom. It also helps keep the bottom clean; when it gets worn and dirty, recycle it and replace it with a new one.

    MESH AND MUSLIN PRODUCE BAGS: PRODUCE STORAGE
    Reusable Produce Bags can save 5-10 plastic bags on every trip to the market. We offer two types of produce bags because each excels at a different job.

    Muslin bags are made of solid fabric. They’re extremely versatile for both shopping and storage. The fabric allows for good air circulation while reducing light, fine for counter and pantry storage of produce. They excel at refrigerator storage of delicate produce that easily wilts, like lettuce, chard, basil and greens. Refrigerators dehumidify the air to prevent frost buildup. As a result unprotected produce will wilt very fast. Spray the produce with water and place them into a muslin bag while dripping wet. The bags will dampen and provide a moist blanket around the produce, keeping them nice and crisp for days. If the bags begin to dry out in a few days spray the produce again.

    Mesh bags are made of 1/8-inch square netting that is very stretchable and allows for easy identification of contents. They provide excellent air circulation, great for pantry storage of thick-skinned produce like potatoes and onions. You can hang full bags on hooks by the drawstring for extra pantry space. Mesh bags work fine for refrigerator storage of thick-skinned produce like apples, oranges and cucumbers, but we do not recommended them for storage of delicate produce that will easily wilt in a low humidity environment.
