Designed to fill the space between Canon’s XF100/105 and the XF300/305 cameras, the XF200/205 feature individual gear rings for focus, zoom, and iris on the built-in 20x zoom lens. The lens rings are electronically lined, so they can function in either manual or auto. In manual mode, however, the lens rings feel and operate without that too-easy-to-turn feeling long associated with electronically linked lenses.
To accompany that smooth retro-feel lens operation, Canon has endowed these cameras with modern connection and codecs, allowing for MP4 video to be recorded to an SDXC card while simultaneously recording at more robust video settings to CF cards.
