As a CNC controller designer, we have rich experience dealing with servo motors.

especially if you build CNC plasma/flame cutting machne, mostly used servos is Panasonic A4,A5 series.

Usually on X axis, in US called Y axis, ( transverse direction), it is a 400W servos.

On longitude,  if the load below 1500kg,  dual drive, 750W servo is enough.

400W and 750W servo motor's gearbox  is same price, PLE80 planetary gearbox.   And to save cost for customer, Mitsubishi and Panasonic servos share same gearbox, as long as it is same power.

Over 1500kg, 1kw servo is a must.  With 1kw servo motor, the servo and gearbox cost both much increased.   So usually if the gantry is not too heavy, we dont suggest 1kw servo.
