Universal compensators (expansion joints, expansion joints) are mainly used to compensate the axial displacement of pipelines and a small amount of transverse displacement of pipelines. They can reduce vibration and noise. They have the advantages of simple pipeline design, easy installation and low cost. However, when used in large-caliber pipelines, due to excessive internal pressure thrust, special attention should be paid to the strength of the fixing bracket in order to avoid the collapse of the fixing bracket. Universal compensation can be used as axial compensation or transverse compensation alone, but it is not suitable for angular compensation alone.
