A2: Yes, I have used my microwave to heat the gel packs (Submerged in a bowl of water). You just have to seriously watch it and check it to prevent it from bursting and from overheating altogether.

Q3: If recovering from foot surgery, would it be able to fit the gel packs to ice the top and sides of foot ?

A3: There is seperate packs that come with it yes you could ice the top of the foot.
