Why choose the BN-K1 CBN inserts to process the slurry pump?

The hardness of high chromium cast iron slurry pump is higher after casting, especially the parts of large slurry pump. There are casting defects such as sand inclusion and hard particles, so the requirement of cutting tools in machining process is also improved.

Firstly, the insert must need high hardness and high temperature and Red Hardness at high temperature. Because the requirement of workpiece hardness is rather higher；the continuous process can product a large of heat which can lead to the inserts seriously wear. Inserts have high temperature red hardness, that is to say, the inserts can maintain high hardness (greater than 60 HRC) when it is heated and heated externally. Secondly, the impact toughness is good. When encountering defects such as sand inclusion and pore, it’s high requirement for inserts with fracture resistance and impact resistance
