ASTM1020 is a high quality carbon structural steel with high cold

deformation and plasticity.

The standard ASTM1020 is less than 1.35% of the carbon content of

20# steel in China. Besides the iron, carbon and the limit of silicon,

manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and other impurities, it does not

contain other alloy elements.The performance of carbon steel

depends mainly on carbon content.The carbon content increases,

the strength and hardness of the steel increases, and the plasticity,

toughness and weldability are reduced.Compared with other steel

classes, carbon steel is the earliest, low cost, wide range of

performance and the largest amount.

Features and scope of application:

The strength is slightly higher than 15 steel, rarely quenched, no

temper brittleness.Cold deformation of high plasticity, commonly

used for bending, rolling, flanging and hammer processing, such as

arch arc welding and resistance welding welding performance is

good, when welding thickness is small, strict shape or complex

shape partsprone to crack.Machined cold drawing or positive fire

state is better than annealing condition, which is generally used

for making small force and high toughness.,

Hardness: no heat treatment,  ≤156HB.

Heat treatment specification and metallographic structure:

Heat treatment specification: fire, 910 ℃, air cooling.

Metallographic structure: ferrite + pearlite.
