MODBUS range actuators equips a Modbus board which supports the communication protocol of Modbus TCP/IP . The Modbus board makes use of RJ45 interface and can operate in 4 wire mode, and supports baud rates up to 38.4 kBit/s. Master and slave devices: Max. 247 slave devices connected to one bus, withoutrepeaters max. 32 slave devices. 

If the security is required highly for the environment,a redundant connection between the actuators and the DCS can be established by using a second fieldbus cable. And two Modbus boards must be equipped in the actuator, respectively corresponding to bus highway1 and bus highway2. In this way, the communication can be swich to highway2 at once when the highway1 happen trouble.

Modbu master can send the commands which make the actuator carry out OPEN, CLOSE, STOP and ESD.The master can also read the status , setting parameter and some alarm information.

B-series smart controller adopts Microcontroller Unit (MCU) and is able to receive switching signals, ratio signals and bus signals, which, after processed, can actuate the actuation parts, such as three-phase contactors or solid-state relays, that control forward or backward running of the control motors, in order to realize opening or closing operations on the actuators.The controller integrates complete internal protection circuits from over-temperature, phase loss or over-torque. The controller may also provide external ratio signal feedback and multi-way field programmable relay status feedback. Depending on the control signals, the controllers include switch-type controllers (ZK series) and modulation-type controllers (ZT series), and depending on the power supply, the controllers include single-phase controllers (2B) and three-phase controllers (3B).
Switch-type controllers receive only switching value signals provided externally which are processed by MCU board and the output instructions are amplified and then used to drive the actuator motor to realize remote opening and closing actions.
On basis of switch-type controllers, the modulation-type controllers can receive ratio signals provided externally.
There are five types of buses: Profibus-DP, Modbus, FF, Hart and Device Net.

2. The auxiliary components include an 18-bit absolute encoder, ensuring that the valve position
information will not be lost, therefore the controller realizes high precision, zero wear rate, long service life and strong disturbance resistance and requires no battery support.
3. The controllers are also available with optional all-electronic torque measurement technologies,
realizing continuous torque measurement. It also ensures that torque value is adjustable and requires no further calibration or concerns of mechanical wear.
4. In a complete plan, there are five optional buses: Profibus-DP, Modbus, FF, Hart and Device Net.
5. Unique dual-speed control mechanism, protecting actuators from surges of fluids during its working process.
6. Adjustable working parameters of infrared setting device and knob (magnetic isolation technology), easy to use and completely free from disassembly in maintenance.
7. Simple and visualized Chinese menu, humanized MMI, easy debugging, and also available with 
English menus for exported products.
8. Complete 3-level password protection, free authorization to different clients or operators, avoiding actuator faults by incorrect parameter setting.
9. 5 field programmable monostatic relay feedbacks, 1 mono-stable relay feedback for warning
messages and 4 extensible bi-stable relay feedbacks.
10. Optoelectronic isolation to all I/O signal channels (withstanding 2000V surge).
11. Position feedback 4~20mA signal load resistance: 50Ω~750Ω, precision: 0.5%;
12. Working temperature: -30~+70.
13. Working humidity ≤90%RH, non-condensate, no strong corrosive, inflammable and explosive gases or dust in adjacent areas.

3.1 Local electric Operation
There are two knobs on the electric cover of the actuator: one Selector knob and one operator knob. For local inching operation, please switch the “Selector” knob to “LOCAL” position and then use the “Operator Knob” to control the actuator.
3.1.1 Inching
Turn and hold the “Operator Knob” to “CLOSE” position and the actuator moves in the closing
direction. Once released, the knob will automatically return to its original position and the actuator
movement stops.
Turn and hold the “Operator Knob” to “OPEN” position and the actuator moves in the opening direction.
Once released, the knob will automatically return to its original position and the actuator movement stops.
3.1.2 Keep
Turn the “Operator Knob” to “CLOSE” position, and the actuator moves in the closing direction. Then release the knob, and the knob will automatically return to its original position, however the actuator continues its movement in the closing direction until the action stop conditions are met (such as over torque or close limit, etc.)

3.2 Local Stop
When Selector knob is at “STOP” position, the actuator will disable all inching operations.
3.3 Remote Operation
3.3.1 Remote Switching Value Control
Conditions for enabling remote switching value control:
1. Selector knob is at “Remote” position;
and 2. Manual/Auto switch is open.
