Tarp thickness is measured in a unit caled mil (this is equivalent to a thousandth of an inch). Conversion of mil to inch is simple. Just follow this computation: 14 mil/1000 = 0.014 in.

Ideal Uses of Silver/Black Poly Tarps

Our silver/black poly tarps have a neat look. They don’t draw a lot of attention unlike the other colors available here. These qualities make these tarps great for messy building projects you want to cover up, whether they're in a residential or commercial area.

Either side can be exposed. So if the silver side is the one that suits the surrounding environment, use this side. The clean look of the silver side is great for covering outdoor furniture, supplies, materials and plants. If you think that the tarp will catch a lot of dirt, then the black side should be the one exposed. This side is also ideal as farming and gardening covers. When it faces the sun, the black side filters the harmful rays which can prevent weeds when you’re growing plants.
