• Does it hurt to lie on the Shakti Mat?

During the first few minutes you may experience a slightly painful sensation. We recommend that you stay with this sensation and spend some time breathing deeply into your abdomen. After a few minutes a warm sensation will develop where the Shakti energy mat touches your body. Blood circulation increases very quickly and this will help to dissolve any tension. Any sensations of pins and needles will disappear and be replaced by a deep feeling of relaxation, as after a good night of deep sleep.

• How does the Shakti Mat promote relaxation?

The 6,000 spikes in the Shakti Mat stimulate the nerves where the spikes meet the body. The nerves send impulses from these points to the brain and endorphin, as well as other various substances, in the brain releases energy and relaxation to the nervous system and muscles.

• How long should I lie on the Shakti Mat?

We recommend 20-40 minutes per treatment, but there is no danger with longer treatments. Many fall asleep on the Shakti Mat and there is no danger in doing so.

• Is the Shakti Mat suitable for people with heart conditions?

We don't recommend using the Shakti Mat if a heart condition is present.

• Is the Shakti Mat suitable for pregnant women?

We don't recommend using the Shakti Mat while pregnant.

• Is it dangerous to use the Shakti Mat if I have inflammation in my joints or muscles?

Many people experience much improvement with the use of the Shakti Mat. Place the inflamed area on the Shakti Mat or gently press the Shakti Mat directly on the area. This increases the blood circulation and helps the area to heal.

• Is it ok to use the Shakti Mat if I have any skin condition?

It is possible that the spikes can irritate or worsen a sensitive and inflamed skin. You can use a thin cloth between the skin and the mat. If you experience any negative affects you need to stop using the mat immediately.
