The APW glass cutting machine is widely used for cutting a wide variety of glass products, from ultra-thin panels to thick multi-layered bullet-proof panels for vehicles and buildings to panels for stained glass windows. The APW has the capability perform a low pressure pierce that automatically switches to high pressure mode to continue the tool path. This means that even the most brittle glass can easily be pierced to create a starting point and yet still be cut at maximum speed. The only glass that can’t be cut is tempered glass, designed to shatter into tiny pieces if cut or broken.
There are four parts in our glass cutting machine. They are intensifier pump; cutting table; CNC controller and Auto abrasive feeder.

Dual-Core Waterjet Debut
APW pioneered “Dual-Core” waterjet, which integrated SIEMENS motor, imported REXROTH hydraulic pump and hydraulic valves assembly, American A&V intensifier, American high pressure tube and stainless steel water tank. This dual intensifiers design (for glass cutting machine ) represents another landmark in APW history.
They has been widely used in all APW waterjet series. UP to now, APW is still the only waterjet manufacturer holding this advanced technology in China.
Imported components
We adopt the imported components like Rexroth hydraulic pump; USA intensifier; Siemens motor; Omron PLC; Yaskawa servo driver, Yuken direction control valves etc. The whole parts of intensifier is assembled in USA (not just some parts), most of the smaller parts are also imported from USA to ensure its good stability during cutting, durability and long working service life.

An operator with no experience should be able to learn how to operate and maintain a waterjet glass cutting machine with as little as one weel of training. New CAD/CAM nesting software offered by APW make it possible for an operator with no programming experience to program the machine with only a few hours of training.
2. Are there special considerations for making glass parts?
Yes, Dual pressure piercing allows for piercing of glass with minimal risk of cracking. APW glass cutting machines could work with low-pressure piercing to slowly raise the pump pressure during the pierce to avoid a sudden shock to the material by a rapid change in pressure. Using there techniques reduces the risk of cracking. making glass cutting into a very profitable venture.
3. What's your glass cutting machine's max.cutting thickness?
The max.cutting thickness of our glass cutting machine depends on your desired cutting quality.
Generally speaking, the thickness of our glass cutting machine can be up to 150mm, virtually Z constraint is the only limit to thickness.
4, How about the consumption of abrasives?
We usually use the 80# garnet, it is about 25kg per hours.
