 4, new application in automobile engine cylinder cover coating machine 

   (1)Engine cylinder block is the most important part of automobile engine. Its function is to provide the installation, sustain for the engine and its components ; and guarantee the precise position of piston, connecting rod, crankshaft and other moving parts, as well as to ensure the engine's ventilation, cooling and lubrication

   (2) As the heart of the car, the engine directly affects the overall performance of the car. At present, with the development of automobile in the direction of lightweight, the proportion of aluminum engine used in automobile industry is higher and higher. Because aluminum alloy has less wear resistance than cast iron, the traditional aluminum engine must be inlaid with cast iron cylinder cover to improve wear resistance. However, the disadvantage of cast iron cylinder cover is the encapsulation between the cylinder cover and cylinder block. Because of the different thermal capacity characteristics of the two materials, it will affect the durability of aluminum engine block. In this regard, foreign automobile manufacturers have developed a new technology, cylinder hole spraying technology, also known as cylinder-free technology.

 (3)Cylinder hole spraying technology refers to using  the thermal spraying technology(arc spraying or plasma spraying) ,spray alloy coating  or other composite material coating to the roughened aluminum engine cylinder wall , to replace  the traditional cast iron cylinder cover. The coated aluminum alloy cylinder body is still an integrated cylinder body, the coating thickness of which is only 0.3 mm, which has the advantages of reducing the engine weight  , reducing the friction and wear between cylinder hole and piston, improving heat conduction performance , reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emission.

(4)At present, the new technology has been used in engine below: Germany Volkswagen's EA 211, Audi A8, VW Lup1 .4 L TSI, GM Opel, Nissan GT-R, BMW's latest Series B engine, the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350's 5.2 L V8 engine, Nissan Infiniti Q 50's 3.05 T V6 engine(VDET 30).

(5)The material of engine block is generally gray iron, such as HT 200, HT 250. As the working environment of the cylinder block is wet(working in the immersion of gasoline), and high temperature, high load and  heavy friction, therefore, the cylinder body is required to have high strength, high hardness, high wear resistance and good heat dissipation, and gray iron can meet the requirements of high strength high hardness and high wear resistance, also the process performance , vibration reduction , cutting and processing performance is good, at the same time , the cost is lower, but the disadvantage is heavier weight. So now more and more cylinder block uses aluminum alloy material, its biggest benefit is to reduce the weight of cylinder block, this also accords with the trend of car lightweight.
