How ESA NT works
The phosphorescent element in ESA NT contains Strontium Nitrate based pigment and other chemicals formulated to meet our exact specifications for maximum glow intensity, extended decay time and laundry performance.
The formulated pigments have a high capacity for absorbing and storing light energy. The atoms in the pigments absorb photon energy from an ultra violet light source. The light source can be natural daylight or artificial UV light such as fluorescent strip lights. These electrons act like a battery effectively storing light energy.
This energy is then emitted as light, once there is no more light to absorb. The light that is given out is called an afterglow. The chart below gives charging times to achieve a full 8 hours of however ESA NT will absorb light from the surrounding environment in less than one minute.
The afterglow can be seen in reduced light conditions such as, a dimly lit warehouse; in the shadow of large machinery; inside abandoned buildings, underneath large aircraft; on an unlit road at dusk; low level smoke.
The afterglow can be seen in complete dark conditions such as, unlit roads, railway tracks, tunnels, nighttime work away from spot lights.
