ESA B1007-NG are phosphorescent tapes that can be used with ESA reflective tapes or on their own to introduce a new safety element to garments and accessories. ESA NT uses phosphorescent technology that absorbs UV light from natural or artificial light which is then emitted as an “afterglow” in low light or no light conditions.
Both products are sew on tapes suitable for mid weight and heavy weight fabrics including Cotton, Polyester, Poly/Cotton mixes, Canvas and PU coated fabrics. ESA NT has a wash performance of 50 cycles at 40℃ and 50 tumble dry cycles at medium heat. Also available with a wash performance of 50 cycles at 60℃.
ESA B1007-NG offers flexibility to the designer. The tapes can be sewn on either side of the reflective tape or to just one side for commodity garments such as vests and combat trousers.

How ESA NT works
The phosphorescent element in ESA NT contains Strontium Nitrate based pigment and other chemicals formulated to meet our exact specifications for maximum glow intensity, extended decay time and laundry performance.
The formulated pigments have a high capacity for absorbing and storing light energy. The atoms in the pigments absorb photon energy from an ultra violet light source. The light source can be natural daylight or artificial UV light such as fluorescent strip lights. These electrons act like a battery effectively storing light energy.
This energy is then emitted as light, once there is no more light to absorb. The light that is given out is called an afterglow. The chart below gives charging times to achieve a full 8 hours of however ESA NT will absorb light from the surrounding environment in less than one minute.
The afterglow can be seen in reduced light conditions such as, a dimly lit warehouse; in the shadow of large machinery; inside abandoned buildings, underneath large aircraft; on an unlit road at dusk; low level smoke.
The afterglow can be seen in complete dark conditions such as, unlit roads, railway tracks, tunnels, nighttime work away from spot lights.
