Thrust ball bearings from a steel ball (with cage), a shaft washer (a tight fit with the shaft) and a seat (there is a gap with the shaft with the bearing hole tight fit), with ball in the axis of the ring and seat ring between the rotation. Can only carry axial load in one direction, can not bear radial load. The axial load is evenly distributed on each ball, so a larger load capacity; but the work, the larger the temperature rise, allowing a lower speed limit.
Thrust ball bearings can not restrict the radial movement shaft or housing, but may limit the shaft and the shell axial movement in one direction; therefore, such bearings are usually used in conjunction with the deep groove ball bearings. Installation, shaft and housing must remain concentric axis of the hole; otherwise it will cause the stress concentration premature bearing damage. In order to eliminate this undesirable phenomenon can be present between the ring diameter and the shell holes left 0.5 ~ 1mm of the radial clearance. Shaft centerline and housing should ensure that the vertical bearing surface, tilted axis and the deflection is not allowed, otherwise will cause uneven distribution of the load bearing prematurely.
