Edible oils are divided into animal fat and non-animal fat, and they are necessary nutrient for human beings. Influenced by the storage condition such as temperature, air and light, the fat of edible oil will be oxidized and it leads the edible oil acidized which will let edible oil change the character and lose the nutrient, and even do harm to human beings.
Acidity is an important index of the quality of edible oil. Acidity of edible oil rapid detecting kit developed by our company is suitable for the rapid detection of acidity of edible oil on the spot.
1. Using method
Weigh 0.20g sample and put them into test tube, and add 2.0mL test reagent A and two drops of test reagent B, then shake them evenly. Drip vertically titrant and shake them evenly after dripping every drop. Stop titrating until the solution turns pink and record the drop numbers of titrant which is referred to N thereinafter.
2. Result
Titrate according to the above steps, and the formula of calculating acidity of edible oil is as follows:
Acidity (mg/kg) = N×0.15
The number 0.15 referred in the above formula means the acidity of every titrant is equal to 0.15mg/kg.

4. Matters need attention
4.1 Test reagent A is isopropanol, and it is provided 50mL in this kit. If it is not enough, it should be prepared by users themselves.
4.2 Drip vertically during titration to avoid influencing the result.
4.3 Be carful to do the test due to the corrosivity of test reagent. Rinse with clean water if stained by detected reagent carelessly.
4.4 This method is only for rapid detection, and precise quantitation should be gained by standard methods.

It is suitable for the rapid detection of acidity of edible oil.
6. Storage condition
Keep them at room temperature in aeration-drying condition.
